MINUTES
Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §§97-25, 97-80(a), and 97-81(a) and in order to keep the Industrial Commission’s medical mileage reimbursement rate as reflective of actual cost as possible, the Industrial Commission hereby adopts as the mileage reimbursement for medical travel the same amount per mile as is in effect from time to time for mileage rates for use of a car for business purposes as set by the Internal Revenue Service. For calendar year 2006, that rate is 44.5 cents per mile. The Industrial Commission’s Form 25T Itemized Statement of Charges for Travel is also hereby amended to reflect the linkage between the IRS business mileage rate and the NCIC medical mileage rate. Changes in the mileage rate are effective for NCIC Forms 25T seeking reimbursement for mileage incurred after the date of these minutes and thereafter for Forms 25T seeking reimbursement for mileage incurred after the effective date of future IRS changes.
